F1 - UDH HANGER

The innovative UDH dropout, compatible with future generation derailleurs, is specially designed to be able to rotate on itself, avoiding twisting or breaks when the derailleur is hit by branches or other debris. A simple operation is all it takes to bring it back in line with the chain. The 430 stay is more comfortable, flattened and with reduced cross-sections. It has been designed to allow sufficient space for 2.35 tyres and a drivetrain of up to 38. F1 is factory-ready for telescopic seat post installation after integrating the cable into the frame.

F1 - Advanced Geometry
When we designed our F1, we wanted an MTB with a comfortable riding position on climbs which could inspire a feeling of stability on downhill stretches and at high speeds. To achieve this, we worked on the geometry of the frame. The head tube angle opening, combined with a more forward position the front wheel axle, has made the bike more stable on downhill stretches. The 76° seat tube makes the rider’s position more central, to prevent front wheel lifting off the ground on steeper uphill stretches.

F1 - Latex EPS

Olympia was able to reduce the weight of the frame by 20%, without compromising on rigidity and strength, thanks to the special EPS technology with latex double mould. The internal mould in foam polystyrene is covered with latex and the carbon fibre is actually “supported” by this structure. The entire mould is heated, inflated and then hardened. Thanks to the latex effect (this material is then removed), a perfectly smooth finish will be obtained, completely free of excess material, in full compliance with the design specifications. The result is a more compact, lighter and stiffer layup.

The 1.5/1.5 steering allows cables to run inside the handlebars. While the most striking innovation is of an aesthetic nature, it is not all about a cleaner design: cable integration ensures a more stable and rigid bike front, improving trajectory control precision.

GEOMETRIES

There are many new features in the 2021 version of F1, the iconic hardtail model by Cicli Olympia. The main one concerns its weight - considerably reduced thanks to a more streamlined design and the use of the EPS system in the construction of the monocoque Toray T1000, T800 and M40J carbon fibre frame. The geometries have been extensively redesigned to obtain a smoother riding feel and improve stability uphill and vehicle control downhill. In the size S, the bottom bracket has been raised to achieve a better bike balance. The 1.5/1.5-inch steering assembly is precise and rigid. The cable harnesses are integrated in the handlebars. The steering-fork assembly is highly compact. To increase comfort, the 430 rear stay has been flattened and the stays’ cross-sections have been reduced. Space requirements were taken into consideration to allow for tyres with a section of up to 2.35 and a drivetrain of up to 38.
The newly designed UDH dropout, compatible with future Sram derailleurs, rotates on itself if hit by branches or debris, avoiding twisting or breaks. The chain guide has been completely redesigned to be more functional and lighter. F1 is factory-ready for mounting a telescopic seat post.
